Rhenee Using 4e Vistani Rules

There's a series of articles coming out in Dragon that focus on the Vistani, a gypsy-like people from Ravenloft. It seems like a lot of the fluff would fit the Rhenee well, and the mechanics that will be released

Basically, the Vistani heritage feat works like the dhampir feat. You take it and gain an "evil eye" type power. The way it's written up now, any race could become Vistani, but if I were to have this in GH I'd limit the feat to humans and (maybe) halflings.

If you have DDI, here's the link:

Change the "pt1" to "pt2" to see the mechanical stuff.

Vistani as Rhenee Works Well

I think Vistani as Rhenee works well in Greyhawk. It's an appropriate theme and a very good analogue. And, I think Chris Sims did a great job on both articles.

This is what Bruce Cordell did on Expedition to Castle Ravenloft - only humans and halflings were Vistani. I think it detracts from human appeal and uniqueness to allow everyone "and their dog" to be Vistani.

The article up today has the Vistani Seer feat that allows use of divination rituals. Restrict it to women only and it's a simple way to replicate the Rhennee Wise Women, probably in conjunction with some other feats.

I saw the articles too, and agree that they are pretty cool and nicely adaptable to my WoG campaign.

The timing was awesome, since I had been updating my "4e players intro" blurb on the Rhennee the night before the articles came out.
