NPC Search

I have come across very brief references to two particular characters from the Gord series that I am considering adding as NPC antagonists to my next The Keep on the Borderlands campaign. I have been unsuccessful in finding much more information online and I no longer own the books in order to search them myself. Below is all I know about the two:

Red Bowman: He is the leader of 50 brigands in the Vesve Forest. He joins Obmi.

Trehyoego: Chieftain of the Nonuz of the Bloody Fangs tribe of gnolls, local to the Vesve forest.

Aside: Is 'Nonuz' the Flan word for gnolls, like jebli and euroz refer to goblins and orcs, respectively?

I am specifically interested to know the fate of these two individuals. In my campaign, Gord's adventures take place shortly after my campaign begins. Therefore, I must presume that these two will have to survive any participation in my northern Vesve campaign, if I want to remain as true to canon as possible.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

I'm not sure about nonuz, but noniz (with an "i" replacing the "u") is the Flan word for gnome. Kell, I believe, is the Flan word for gnoll.

Edited to add: I know nothing of the two characters you asked about.

edit #2: It occurs to me that "Chieftain of the Nonuz of the Bloody Fangs tribe of gnolls" sounds as though the individual noted was the chieftan some sort of subgroup of the Bloody Fangs tribe. Depending on how faithfully it's been reproduced here, I also note that Nonuz is capitalized while gnoll is not. I may be reading into it too much, but that would potentially indicate that Nonuz is referring to a tribal group with a proper name rather than a fantasy race.

I can’t help with those characters, but last I checked, you could read all the Gord books on the Internet Archive.

Thank you, fellas!

Naughtical, I appreciate the insight regarding 'Nonuz'. You have nailed down the ephemeral concerns my mind couldn't quite grasp. Happy

I also appreciate the link, DMPrata. I'll be sure to check it out.

You can also use Krista Siren's site at https://greyhawkonline.com/gordmain/ for all Gord-related lore.
