Any recommendations for canonical sources regarding the Plain of Greyhawk?
My Greyhawk '75 campaign was initially going to be an urban campaign set in the Free City of Greyhawk. The adventurers started on the outskirts with a job to recover some treasure secreted away in the Cairn Hills. That adventure ended with a standoff with agents of the Burrow Boys, a ruthless band of halflings preying on road and river traffiic in the Plain communities.
The Burrow Boys killed one of the PCs after negotiations stalled; the adventurers ultimately won the day, but now - rather than heading to Greyhawk - they plan on hunting down the Burrow Boys.
They're aided in this by the father of the fallen PC, who had hung up his great axe for good after the Battle of Emridy Meadows to live a peaceful life. Now he's picked up that axe again, intent on vengeance for his son.
And I'm left figuring out what's available for the Plain of Grehyawk. :)
As a starting point, I've got the regional map from the DMG 2024 (we play 5e; that content is what inspired us to go back to Greyhawk after a few years away).
It's not a bad map, but I haven't gone searching through my various sourcebooks to see how well it fits with canon. Most of my previous experience in and around Greyhawk was focused on the Cairn Hills (specifically with the Star Cairns module) and the ruins of Castle Greyhawk (Greyhawk Ruins supplement).
I think there's some material in the City of Greyhawk boxed set, though I haven't gone delving through that yet (I flipped through it while preparing for the campaign, but my initial focus was on the city).
To sum up, I'm looking for:
1. Canonical references to the Plain of Greyhawk and its communities.
2. Fan-created write-ups for the region (Oerth Journal, forum posts, whatever).
Those sources are, respectively, the City of Greyhawk boxed set (Gem of the Flanaess booklet), From the Ashes boxed set (campaign book and reference card #14), Greyhawk Player’s Guide, The Adventure Begins, The Doomgrinder, and The Star Cairns.
