question: is there any nation in the Flanaess (after the Great Kingdom) that is willing to mount an expedition to circumnavigate the continent of Oerik? The Jason and the Argonauts myth, at least according to some, recounts an expedition that circumnavigates the continent of Europe.
I think the Scarlet Brotherhood. They have the motivation and the means, and are in a pretty ideal location to send out multiple expeditions. Plus their influence and reps have damn near spread throughout much of the region already.
A lot of nations could do this in theory: the Sea Barons, Lordship of the Isles, the Snow Barbarians, even Greyhawk might do it under the right circumstances. It all depends on the story you want to tell.
Beyond the Flanaess, perhaps the Celestial Imperium, Lynn, Thalos, Tharquish Empire, "Nippon", etc.
Or maybe it isn't even a land-dwelling nation, but an expedition by merfolk or locathah (or the kna, since I have The Greyhawk Journal #2 open).
You'd have to decide if it was even possible, given the mountainous isthmus some maps have connecting Oerik to Hyperboria.
The latest issue of The Greyhawk Journal features a (successful) expedition from Zeif to find a Northwest Passage through the Sea of Hyperboria. The article is a little vague, but I presume this means from the Dramidj Ocean to the Sea of Hyperboria, in order to gain access to the High Khanate.

That article, plus the Argonautic Expedition (I think it was the first) that sparked this idea.
