I thought it was interesting, but I couldn't think of a Greyhawk Minoan analog. Nowadays, it's still done in Spain and France. Divorced from Cretan/Minoan culture, I do see western Keoland as cattle country, particularly in and near the Good Hills (I set a heavily converted fantasy version of the old Boot Hill adventure from Dragon Magazine, "Taming of Brimstone", there).
