Grey Grimoire Summer 2024

The Grey Grimoire Summer 2024 is here!

We are pleased to bring you the third issue of The Grey Grimoire.

We continue to get an outstanding line-up of authors and articles.

Leading off we have the Ecology of the Silt Shifter by Troy “Cannibaal” Alleman, another creature of the deep useful for both Greyhawk and general campaigns, featuring AD&D and 5E stats.

Next is Bedeviled Eggs and Nork Tortle Soup by Sam “Samwise” Weiss. A somewhat silly side trek set on and near the Isle of Dread with AD&D and 3E stats included. Note: This adventure features the Aquatic Norker from Visions of Greyhawk vol. 1.

Charmalaine & Bigby by Sam “Samwise” Weiss is a short bit of absurd fiction offering an alternative take on how Bigby became a gnome.

We then turn to Scale Tectonics in the Flanaess by Matthew Melmon. This in-character scholarly treatise presents a version of science applied to the Flanaess.

Dwarf Push by Paul “Artharn the Cleric” Jurdeckza introduces a new sport to the Flanaess. This can feature in village fairs and similar events in your campaign.

HepAnimals by Sam “Samwise” Weiss and Paul “Artharn the Cleric” Jurdeczka offers 3E stats for the Pleistocene megafauna of Australia with liberal additions based on tall tales and general amusement.

Magic Items of Heat and Flame by Ewan “Norker” Cummins introduces several fire-based magic items to help players explore and survive the Flanaess in AD&D rules.

The Mellow Lily by Eric Bailey provides information on a tavern located in the city of Chull introduced in issue 2. It includes 5E stats for the employees.
Treasures of the Sea by Troy “Cannibaal” Alleman adds three more 5E magic items for aquatic campaigns. Fitting treasure should your players defeat a silt shifter.

Baklunish Magic, Part 1 by Doc Jacques looks at the Zashassar, a college of magic and organization of wizards based in Ekbir City. The Baklunish lands have always needed more attention, and this is a welcome addition to the lore of the West.

The Curseworm by Paul “Artharn the Cleric” Jureczka with Les “Oblivion Seeker” Reno unleashes 5E stats for an ancient and deadly threat left over from the Baklunish-Suloise Wars.

G-ds of Greyhawk, Part 2: The Suloise Pantheon and the Jmarva by Rob Conley continues his series looking at the mighty powers of the Flanaess and how they are served in different areas.

A History of the Night Merchants by Giantstomp looks at a more-than-mundane organization undertaking a less-than-pleasant task. The item section includes OSR and 5E notes for the equipment.

The Village Fair by Paul “Artharn the Cleric” Jurdeczka discusses a common element of a medieval milieu and a way to engage players with the community and setting. Task resolution is presented in 5E terms but is rules light enough to easily adapted for any system.

Nagahide Halter by Sam “Samwise” Weiss is an irreverent magic item suitable for light-hearted campaigns. 3E with AD&D equivalent notes.

Kezara by Myriad and Rosie Applebottom by Darling Creepshow are two notable PCs from Jay “Lord Gosumba” Scott’s long running World of Greyhawk campaign. Get an inside look at these two famous personalities.

Rogue’s Gallery: Kavik Latrian by John “Endycarus” Dawes is a 3E NPC suitable as a patron, enemy, or something in-between for your campaign.
