Mecha in Greyhawk?

Okay, I've been wondering if anyone thinks adding Mecha to Greyhawk is a good idea. I meant to ask this question on the Eberron discord, but they are disrespectful to me.

The reason why I ask is because of d20 Mecha. I read through my copy twice, and the writer, David Pulver; suggested using Mecha in a fantasy campaign. I know the presence of giant robots or variable vehicles isn't strictly Medieval fantasy; however there was an adventure (Against the Giants I believe) that featured a crashed starship. And one written by Dave Arneson that had high technology in it (Temple of the Frog).

I think mecha can fit in Eberron more readily than Greyhawk, however, the world of Greyhawk is one world where high technology or ultra technology can fit. Eberron gets around this with magical locations and eldritch machines. Greyhawk has a crashed starship. I would think something like from Escaflowne would work. Thoughts?

CM4

D&D module "Earthshaker! has something like this.

Earthshaker is a gigantic, fantasy machine.

I haven't played this module. The Command Deck has a command chair and control consoles. So it is operated by a team of gnomes unless someone can get the mind gem which allows for verbal control.

Ah, thanks! I didn't know Earthshaker! had a mecha. I suppose the gnomes make up the antagonists of the adventure. Now I remember, the crashed Starship is in Expedition to the Barrier Peaks!

NPC Villan

No, the villain is a 21st level thief who wants to steal the machine from the gnomes that built it.

Is the Mighty Servant of Leuk-O is too small to be a "mecha"?

Also consider the Machine of Lum the Mad, Heward's Mystical Organ, Robilar's mechanical steed, Ehlissa's Marvelous Nightingale, and a variety of mechanical creatures in the City of the gods somewhere in Blackmoor/the Land of Black Ice.

They're not technically mechs, but Jennell Jaquays' DQ1 The Shattered Statue is pretty darn close to this concept in a fantasy campaign and it adapts well to Ratik, Tenh, near Skrellingshald, or the Frost Barbarians.

Adding to the list of Greyhawk's giant war machines, don't forget Doomgrinder.

IMC, there's cross pollination between the technological dwarves of Blackmoor and those under the Corusks, where I've placed Train of Events and Iron Orb of the Duergar, from Dungeon #44 and #46, involving steam trains and animated colossus.

The Mighty Servant of Leuk-O is literally a mecha.

I first read about it in the magic items section of the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons DM's Guide.

Is that the original AD&D DM's Guide? 1st Edition?

Yes, I believe that is what is being referred to. Also, check the Greyhawk Wiki/Great Library of Greyhawk entry as it has more sources that described the Mighty Servant throughout the various editions.

Artifacts and Relics

Yes, I see it on page 159 of the 1st Edition DMG. Most of these items I don't remember by name. The only game I played where the party encountered items like these was from the module White Plum Mountain (S2). I think my gaming group always had a DM worried about over-powered magic items so we never encountered these things.
