Postfest XVII (Richfest 2012): The Last Respite
mortellan writes "The free port of Narisban, found in the tropical Olman Island chain is a crossroads for intrepid traders and pirates who ply the high seas. Given the remote location of Narisban, nearly every sailor that visits its harbor seeks a respite from the sea for it might be their last."
Postfest XVII(Richfest 2012): The Braided Beard
Phalastar writes "The Braided Beard is an Inn located under the Forge Quarter in the Free City of Irongate. If you need to find the right dwarf to talk to, the Braided Beard is always your best option. Just be sure not to upset the bouncers..."
The Bandit Kingdoms CY 576 - Adventure Ideas
Oerthman writes "Concluding the Bandit Kingdoms Gazetteer is a collection of module ideas and adventure hooks to help DMs to further develop a Bandit Kingdoms campaign.  Share and Enjoy! [tm]"
The Bandit Kingdoms CY 576 - The Northern Lands
Oerthman writes "(Heretics?)The Northern Bandit Kingdoms - Rookroost, Greenkeep, Groskopf, Fellands - are dominated by the Bluff Hills and the Fellreev forest.  In the forest, Fellands and Greenkeep are fighting a nasty little war with the woodsfolk over logging.  Rookroost, Fellands, and Grosskopf squabble over the Bluff Hills silver mines. "
The Bandit Kingdoms CY 576 - The Eastern Lands
Oerthman writes "(Heretic's Nest?)The Eastern Bandit Kingdoms - Artonsamay, Johrase, Dimre, and Stoink - all border the Artonsamay river.  In other words, easy access to loot.  Tenh, the Pale, Nyrond, and Urnst are all fair game and favorite targets.  The raiders are adept at avoiding patrols, feinting one place while striking another, or using secret paths through the Phostwood or Nutherwood to raid miles from the border and return safely.  Of course, the reverse is true.  The Artonsamay is no great barrier to retaliation, either. "
The Bandit Kingdoms CY 576 - The Southern/Central Lands
Oerthman writes "(Again, the topic could be Heritic's Nest)The Southern and Central Bandit Kingdoms are a study in contrasts.  From the revelry of the pirate town of Tortage to the grim stoicism of the great fortress of Riftcrag to the darkness of the Tangles to the sleepy farming communities of Midlands, the lands encompass nearly every terrain imaginable.  The legendary White Plume Mountain is here, as is Riftcrag.   Redhand and Reyhu stand prepared to spoil any attack into the rest of the kingdoms, while Midlands grows the grain to feed the armies - even bandits have to eat."
The Bandit Kingdoms CY 576 - The Western Lands
Oerthman writes "The western Bandit Kingdoms - Warfields, Wormhall, Freehold, Abarra - stand as the barrier between the rest of the kingdoms and the evil of the Horned Society.  The barrier may be cracking - Wormhall is making overtures to the Society, while Warfields and Abarra turn up the pressure.  As always, the only constant in the Lands of the Free Lords is conflict."
Bediyan Desert: Factions and Tribes
Crag writes "“The tribes of the Bediyan Desert are stoic nomads suited to the harsh environment that take comfort in the unchanging desert but change has come to the desert – Come study, the tribes of the Bediyan Desert and enjoy hospitality few outsiders experience.”"
Postfest X(Needfest 2009) The Dirty Dog Tavern in Rookroost
aurdraco writes "Deep in the heart of Rookroost rests a tavern frequented by adventurers, mercenaries, and other well-armed itinerants. The locals give it wide berth, for while the regulars are known to be successful adventurers loaded with coin, they are also known to be quick with a blade or spell when trouble comes to find them. Still, if you need information about a noble far to the south, or a seasoned merc to guard your caravan into the Fellreev, or a bodyguard to keep the Rookroost Thieves Guild off your back, the Dirty Dog, Rookroost’s premier establishment for successful adventurers, is where you should go."
Postfest X(Needfest 2009): The Shaded Respite
Crag writes "“A single drink of water within the inhospitable Bediyan Desert is the difference between life and death” – Marzir Mushifzam, Bediyan Nomad"
Postfest X(Needfest 2009): The Blind Billy Goat Inn
mortellan writes "As the main nexus of trade in Ull, Kester sees an influx of caravans from all directions. Centrally located in town, at the foot of Kester's terraces is the Caravan Circle, a wide cul-de-sac where foreign caravans stop and gather for mutual protection. Many roads and alleys radiate outward from the Circle and each lined with trading stands and weatherworn tents. In the center of this bustling yard is an old but well maintained fountain built by clerics of Geshtai. Popular superstition holds that if the fountain of Geshtai ever goes dry the town will fall into ruin forever. Among the few buildings facing Caravan Circle is Kester's only true inn, the Blind Billy Goat, a last-chance haven for merchants, pilgrims, and explorers who seek a relatively safe, quiet place indoors. The inn is also a magnet for gossip, intrigue and possible adventure."
Postfest X(Needfest 2009): Zelizar‘s House of Ill Repute
Galliskinmaufrius writes ""Rauxes’ most (in)famous inn is without any doubt Zelizar’s House. However its bad repute does not come from its food or lodging, but from the (im)moral qualities of its patrons. Zelizar is certainly the best “chef” in the Great Kingdom and his cooking is the most delicious in the Flanaess. What then if Zelizar is also an adept of Pyremius, God of Murder? You have a week to spend in Rauxes, just don’t omit to visit Zelizar’s House!""
Postfest X(Brewfest 2009): The White Feather Inn
Anced_Math writes "Sitting on a muddy side street, just off the Marlbridge road sits a small well kept inn. Wedged between a blacksmith and a stable, the building is three stories of whitewashed timber and pale gray brick; small windows peek out from under the wide eaves. A weathered sign showing a large white feather overlaying a tankard creaks in the light breeze."
The Scarlet Brotherhood Breeding Program
Galliskinmaufrius writes "In Greyhawk Player's Guide (TSR # 9578), you have optional racial ability adjustments, if you want to role-play a suel character. But these adjustments (+1 Int, -1 Cha) are for average suel people, who are not even members of the Scarlet Brotherhood. What if you want to role-play a PC or create a NPC born in the Scarlet Brotherhood breeding program? Just try this Method Vbis to generate ability scores for them."
Church of The Gran March, Part II
Anced_Math writes "The deities of Oerth are present, and real. Some assume that this negates or at least minimizes the presence of Churches. Not so! As you will see in this overview, the churches of the March are active in the politics and activities of the realm. They are engaged in politics and economics, spreading the word, just as they are on other worlds. Some churches are actually in direct conflict with themselves, as different sects contend to prove their view of their deity is correct! This is the second of a two part series examining the churches of the March."
The Churches of the Gran March, Part I
Anced_Math writes "The deities of Oerth are present, and real. Some assume that this negates or at least minimizes the presence of Churches. Not so! As you shall see in this overview, the churches of the March are active in the politics and activities of the realm. They are engaged in politics and economics, spreading the word, just as they are on other worlds. Some churches are actually in direct conflict with themselves, as differnt sects contend to prove their view of their deity is correct! This is the first of a two part series examining the churches of the March."
A Magical Census of the Gran March
Anced_Math writes "An attempt to reconcile humans, demi humans, humanoids and all the other beasties in a magical world. The base populations of this article are based on numbers from the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer, and then great liberties have been taken."
The Social Classes of the Gran March
Anced_Math writes "The Gran March is known as one of the more militant nations in the Flanaess. For centuries the March was a frontier, wedged between the Rushmoors, Lortmil Mountains, Dim Forest and the hostile Baklunish to the north. Though times have changed, the legacy is a very lawful and structured nation, in which social class is nearly all important. Read on and discover the differences between a Queen's Knight and Ceorl."
The Baronies of the Gran March and Their Population
Anced_Math writes "Herein you shall find a simple table detailing the size and population of each of the Great Baronies of the March. Each Great Barony is depicted in the political map provided by Yabusama, and available in a preceding article on Canonfire! dated 19 June 2008. We hope you find something useful!"
The Population of the Gran March
Anced_Math writes "The first in a series of articles, this is a summary of the various population statistics for the Gran March. This includes refugees, demi-humans, and non-census populations. See www.granmarch.com for more more information."
Tales of the City of the Gods, the Egg of Coot, and the Black Ice
CruelSummerLord writes "“That’s life for you,” Weimar slurred, as his shaking hands set down the wineskin. “There’s sacrifice, devotion, atonement, control, insanity, hate and love all combined when you consider this land…”"
Postfest VIII(UPF1): Thieves Guilds of Seaton
Crag writes "Seaton appears to be nothing more then an honest hard working port, however appearances can be deceiving."
Postfest VIII(UPF1): The Sour Note Tavern
Crag writes "A simple discovery that could topple tyrants, how a small tavern could one day split a faith and endanger the stability of the Sheldomar Valley."
Postfest VIII(UPF1): A Guide to the Viscounty of Salinmoor - Introduction and Overview
gvdammerung writes "Sleepy. Backward. Ignorant. Superstitious. Hidebound. Economically irrelevant. Welcome to Salinmoor!"
Postfest VIII(UPF1): A Guide to the Viscounty of Salinmoor - Who Is Who
UPF1: gvdammerung writes "Meet the indifferent, apathetic and seemingly cursed lords and ladies of the Viscounty of Salinmoor. Those possessed of energy and enthusiasm surely exist within the Viscounty but they are almost universally of an unrelentingly vile disposition. Sleep with the fishes or swim with the sharks."
Postfest VIII(UPF1): The Southhill District of Seaton
smillan_31 writes "This article profiles a district of the city of Seaton, capital of the Viscounty of Salinmore. Two locations are listed with prospective plot hooks for adventures relating to each."
Postfest VIII(UPF1): Refugee Fairness Committee
Crag writes "“Someone must stand up to demand fair treatment for the victims of the war, however not all have pure motives but dark desires that end in blood.”"
Almor Gazetteer part 1
greyseer writes "Explore Almor with this Gazetteer, originally created for Living Greyhawk in an attempt to weave together all canon sources. While it was approved by the administration of the Living Greyhawk campaign at the time, it never made it to publication because of later changes in the campaign's direction. Extensive effort was taken by the author to make sure the information described is as complete as possible, including all prior sources of canon when possible. Some additions were made afterward, to help flesh out the text where possible."
Almor Gazetteer part 2
Greyseer packed so much information into the Almor Gazetteer that even the Canonfire! Killer Kobolds were unable to pack it into one article! Explore the artifacts of Almor, and meet some of the nation's noteworthy personages in the conclusion of the Almor Gazetteer.
Prymp: No City for Sissies
scottenkainen writes "Prymp is the largest city in the Principality of Ahlissa and the most important port in the United Kingdom of Ahlissa. Almost all exports from Ahlissa bound for Nyrond and locales farther afield ship out from Prymp. It is the main base for the Ahlissan Navy and a major base for the Ahlissan Army. It has a reputation as a despicable pirate haven and has suffered reprisal attacks from the Nyrondese Navy several times over the years. When civic authorities became too powerful and plotted to become an independent city state, the plot was crushed by the Ahlissan Army. Such is the history of contradictions that is Prymp."
The Furyondian Military
gvdammerung writes "Furyondy commands the largest and most veteran military force in the Flanaess. No army is larger and no army has faced and won victory from more fiercesome opponents. Furyondy has never started a war but she has won every war into which she has been drawn, defeating Aerdi, Keoland, Iuz, and the Horned Society to name but a few. In the aftermath of the Greyhawk Wars, allied with Veluna and Highfolk, Furyondy is the lone superpower in the Flanaess. It is well for all concerned that Furyondy is for weal, for woe betide all who would challenge the Furyondian military machine. Furyondy doesn't start wars; she finishes them."
Religion In Furyondy
gvdammerung writes "Not an overtly religious nation, Furyondy is yet allied with the theocracy in Veluna.  To an extent Furyondy lets Veluna do their praying for them, while Furyondy concentrates on the martial arts Iuz, among others, demand.  Still, Furyondian faith is strong, both generally and by specific class."
A Geographical and Historical Survey of the Duchy of Berghof
woesinger writes "This article comprises material cut from the Mysterious Places: The Duchy of Berghof article featured on the Living Greyhawk website. It also incorporates details from Samwise's The Rhola and the Toli: the Battle for Jeklea Bay, and thus owes a debt to that work, as well as the classic AD&D modules UK 2 The Sentinel and UK3 The Gauntlet, both by Graeme Morris."
Noble Rank in Furyondy
gvdammerung writes "What a mess! The traditional welter of noble titles in Furyondy is an affront to heralds everywhere. A historical accident created a peerage where differences in title meant virtually nothing. With the Furyondian Civil War that has seen been King Belvor succeeded by King Artur, Furyondian noble titles have finally been reorganized to make feudal sense. A baron now makes way for a count, who make way for a duke. Its about time! Hark now to the Rolls of Prescedence!"
Centaurs of the Dry Steppes
Vormaerin writes "The following article is an exploration of the centaurs of the Dry Steppes: their origins, culture, and habits."
Occupied Ulek: Part 3 - The Blight
DangerDwarf writes "A mighty orc shaman has used the "blood" of his dark god Yurtrus to poison the land. Now, parts of Ulek's former Grindin province have been transformed into a venemous blight by the orcs of the Leprous Hand."
Occupied Ulek: Part 2 - Shargaal
DangerDwarf writes "From the former Ne-Ogard and Grumel provinces, Turrosh Mak's appointed War Chief directs the continued occupation of eastern Ulek. Learn about the orcs, goblins and other humnoids who claim this region as their own."
Occupied Ulek: Part 1
DangerDwarf writes "Fighting continues on the western front of the Orcish Empire as the dwarves of Ulek refuse to give up their tenacious offensive to reclaim their lost land. Who are these orcs that have managed to hold the Despot’s western border? This the first part of a series of articles expanding and revising upon an earlier article entitled "The Tribes of Occupied Ulek"."
See Ull…and Die! Part 2
mortellan writes "Most Worthy Elders (May Mouqol bring you prosperity) herein is the second part of my survey of the contemptible land of Ull. This half of my document focuses mainly on the southern towns of Ull and some notes regarding the trails of Ull. As one travels farther south you will notice the increasing use of turbans among the Uli. Pay attention to how they wear their turbans for sometimes this may be the only way to distinguish one warband from another. Knowing this could prolong your life.Your humble servant –Farid Ibn Bayazid, Appraiser of Merit."
See Ull…and Die! Part 1
mortellan writes "It would behoove you, most Worthy Elders (May Mouqol bring you prosperity) to read my finished survey of the family divisions and militant groups of the heathen land of Ull. It has taken me five long years and several near fatal caravan expeditions to compile this information so as to aid our Consortium in its mercantile efforts in this lawless frontier. A word of warning though, such a volatile land is prone to change and only Istus knows for sure the veracity of my research at present. Your humble servant –Farid Ibn Bayazid, Appraiser of Merit."
Random Encounters in Ull
mortellan writes "The World of Greyhawk’s encounter tables vary throughout the editions due to many factors including differing authors and sweeping campaign events. It is no surprise then that unwary adventurers have been given inaccurate statistical information on what they can expect to encounter in the harsh region of Ull. Tragically many deaths and untold fortunes could have been saved if but for a percentage point or two. This is a modest attempt to bring all Ull editions together into an updated contemporary source."
Tamoachan Revisited - The Fall of Tamoachan
gvdammerung writes "So, Tamoachan fell in a single day. The northern capital of the Olman Empire. The jumping off point for the Olman expansion into Hepmonaland, the Pomarj and the Abbor-Alz. In a single day. No gradual decline. Just - gone! Of course, this is "canon" according to the The Scarlet Brotherhood, which has little good to say of the Olman as other than has beens and current "dirty savages." It is "ignorant canon" - canon specifically ignorant of the prior canon of The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan and, in this case, the early history of the game itself, to say nothing of the actual history that informs the Hidden Shrine. What follows is not "canon." What follows is easily derived from the canon of The Lost Shrine of Tamoachan, however. Is it any better than the blythe destruction of Tamoachan? You be the judge."
Mandros and the Rise and Fall of Oeridian Power in the Sheldomar
samwise writes "When the Oeridians first entered the Sheldomar, their numbers and power were nearly as great as that of their Rhola and Neheli combined, For most of the first century of the Kingdom that power grew, reaching its peak with the election of Mandros as King. Following his death it would decline for the next century, reaching its low point during the reign of Senestal I. It would not recover for centuries, until well into the Slumbering. This article examines the rise and fall of that power, and the chief architect of both - Mandros, the only Oeridian to ever be elected King of Keoland."
Conflicts in the Yeomanry
samwise writes "The Yeomanry has always stood out because of its peculiar, and somewhat anachronistic nature. A representative democracy in a world of feudal monarchies, it has long raised questions about the nature of its government, and its history (not to mention its name). This essay will examine the three major conflicts that have shaped the government and that have given the nation the unique character that is has."
Tamoachan Revisited - The Olman/Touv Wars
gvdammerung writes "The Olman are identified with real world MezoAmerican cultures in The Lost Shrine of Tamoachan. The Touv are introduced in The Scarlet Brotherhood and are a "black-skinned" pseudo-African people. The Olman and the Touv. Two peoples culturally distinct from the pseudo-European Suel and Oeridians who dominate the Flanaess. Both the Olman and Touv are then in turn alleged to be "dominated" or "conquered" by these same pseudo-Europeans after they are made to fight one another in prehistory. Some "fantasy." Some "canon."What's the deal with the the Olman/Touv Wars? Two groups of "primatives" slugging it out to make the World of Greyhawk safe for the mock "caucasians?" Reduced to footnotes in the Flanaess? Hardly. The "canon" treatment of the Olman and the Touv in The Scarlet Brotherhood and the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer is "canon" unenlightened by and ignorant of the prior canon of the Lost Shrine of Tamoachan. Seems the Olman conquered an empire. Seems the Touv taught the Olman the limits of empire. These aren't the "dirty savages" some "canoneers" would have them. Its time to better understand the Olman/Touv Wars and both peoples in the process. Its time to once again return to Lost Tamoachan for a lesson is canon. The Olman and Touv are not primatives waiting to serve the Suel or anyone else. They are empires on the rebound. If "canon" says otherwise, its not "canon," just ignorant of Tamoachan."
Tamoachan Revisited - The Origins of the Olman
gvdammerung writes "The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan is a treasure house of information on the Olman in the grandest tradition of Greyhawk - development of the setting through adventure modules. Don not just read about it, experience it. While supplemented in later sources, the information on the Olman found in The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan remains the first and best source on the Olman. Unfortunately, later sources are too often ignorant of or ignore the Tamoachan adventure. The Olman "canon" of these later sources is then highly suspect.Let us return now to the thrilling days of yesteryear, when adventures defined Greyhawk. Let us revisit Lost Tamoachan. Much remains hidden there to this day. Read the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer or The Scarlet Brotherhood? Think they accurately describe the Olman? Then, you don't know Tamoachan. The authors of the LGG and TSB certainly didn't. So. Let's set the record strait. It ain't canon until Tamoachan says it canon."
The Duchies of Furyondy
gvdammerung writes "The chivalrous, southron knights of the Duchy of the Reach. The gilded pagentry and plotting of the Duchy of Gold Country. The archaically anachronistic Duchy of Littleberg. The industrious Duchy of the March. The haunted Duchy of Kalinstren. These are the duchies of Furyondy. Each one different. Each one unique. Think Furyondy is all of a piece? Think again. While united by a common history, each of the duchies of Furyondy has its own character and charactistics. Its not Keoland, or worse, Nyrond where everything is much the same here as there. Furyondy is alive! Or in some cases, undead - haunted actually. By the lingering spectre of Iuz."
The Crown Provinces of Furyondy
gvdammerung writes "In Chendl, the County of Crystalreach and the Barony of Willip, King Artur of Furyondy holds sway. These are the Crown Provinces of Furyondy and each displays a unique character. None is more unique perhaps that the Barony of Willip, particularly the City of Willip. Rising to the challenge of Dyvers and the City of Greyhawk, Willip is home to a new elan, a new style of knight and a new culture that has the potential to transform both Furyondy and the Flanaess. Visit the great Chendl Listfaire. Fight beside the ferocious Crystalreachers. Dare accept the cavalier challenge of a Knight of Willip, but only if you imagine your wit is as sharp as your blade. A Furyondy of adventures you never dreamed awaits!"
Furyondy Reforged - A Brief History & Chronology
gvdammerung writes "King Belvor is dead. Called "The Great," he was late known as "The Eternal Tyrant" after he quaffed a potion of longevity to unnaturally sustain his reign. That reign ended on the bloody fields of Free Borough, the climatic battle of the Furyondian Civil War. From the fires of that conflict arose Court Artur Jakartai, now King Artur. The fractious "Seven Families" have been put down and the Knightly Conclave now serves well and true as the council of the King. Long live King Artur! The year is 607 CY. Furyondy has been reforged."
The Natural History of Furyondy
gvdammerung writes "This is the story behind the history of Furyondy. From the glaciers that sculpted the Furyondian landscape and the first hominid and demi-hominid inhabits of the land to a present day accounting of climate, crops and resources, this article looks at Furyondy the land."
Tal Aska - An Elven City in the Vesve
kirt writes "Tal Aska is an elven city in the eastern Vesve Forest that I developed for my campaign, and is suitable for inclusion in most campaigns. This article describes the geography, economics, history, defense, and important people of Tal Aska. A sketch map of the city as a MS Word file is available for download HERE. Most of the description of the city is set pre-Greyhawk Wars, but suggestions are given for adapting it to the post-Wars events of particular campaigns."
Postfest V: New Order of the Hart
starbreaker writes "When the Order of the Hart was whole, a young priest entered Oerth through a magical bronzewood tree. The fairy creatures within the tree and around the banks of the Veng and Crystal Rivers immediately understood that this being had a special purpose and power. They abandoned their home to this now awaking human. From his dreams he remembered only the closing of the casket, his faith, and the name Cuthbert."
Postfest V: The Rainbow Company - The Home Guard of Barony Hethiye
anced_math writes "By tradition the March fields cavalry, human cavalry. Nearly a century ago, they broke tradition and mixed the races, creating one of the most effective units of the Hateful Wars. Today this force continues suprising its enemies, with it's descipline, determination and knack for the unexpected."
Living Greyhawk Gazetteer Addendum: The Baklunish West, Part II
CruelSummerLord writes "At last, our grand tour of the Flanaess comes concludes with a glimpse into the far-off lands of Tusmit, Ull, and Zeif."

Yecha Hills - Heart of the Tiger Nomads
donimator writes "The Chakyik, the Tiger Nomads, are fierce plainsmen of pure Baklunish descent. They are primarily a nomadic people, roaming the arid, unforgiving lands north of the Yatil Mountains. A proud people, a strong people, they maintain little contact with much of the Flanaess, isolated as much by geography as by culture. As wild as the plains are, a bastion of civilization exists within the Yecha Hills. The capital city of the Tiger Nomads, Yecha is located in the northeast borders of this highland, overlooking the plains to the east."
Ull Gazetteer: Ulakand the City of Horses, part 2
mortellan writes "“In the first installment we learned much of Ulakand’s geography and how its people make a living within its environs. In the second part we will focus on who holds power in Ulakand and the many colorful customs and events to be encountered here.”"
Ull Gazetteer: Ulakand the City of Horses, part 1
mortellan writes "“Many leagues north of wind swept Kester the wide expanses of grassland become increasingly more fertile until one doesn’t know where Ull ends and the Plains of the Paynims begins. It is in the middle of these rich plains that Ulakand, capital of the notorious Uli stands as a monument to their arrogance and indomitable strength.”"
Living Greyhawk Gazetteer Addendum: The Aerdy East, Part 4
CruelSummerLord writes "At last, from Rel Astra to Sunndi..."

Ull Gazetteer: Trade Town of Kester, Part 2
mortellan writes ""In the first half of this study on the trade town of Kester we saw how the harsh environment and the brutal Uli culture combined to make a risky place for any intrepid traveler to visit. What follows is a look at the even darker underbelly of this extremely raucous society. ""
Ull Gazetteer: Trade Town of Kester, Part 1
mortellan writes ""Standing upon the windswept escarpment of southern Ull is the trade town of Kester. Situated between the imposing Crystalmist Mountains and the foothills of the Ulsprue Range, Kester serves as the hub of a dangerous trade route connecting the inhospitable Dry Steppes with the equally perilous northern plains of Ull and richer Baklunish lands beyond.""
Royal University at Rel Mord
GreySeer writes "Despite being renowned flanaess wide, little is known about the Royal University at Rel Mord. The following writeup describes the political situation at the University along with the colleges and campus, and can be useful as flavorful interlude in an ongoing campaign."
Mowbrenn at a Glance
wavescrest writes "Supplemental to the Postfest Place of Mystery this is a writeup on Mowbrenn, as appeared in the Crimson Ascendant campaign (the first few logs of which are available on this website also). Unlike the Places of Mystery Writeup this is set in 585 CY, when Blackmar is still Count, but a lot of the events (Blood Cult, rat-fiend etc.) are still going on. It does however give the truth of Mowbrenn's Flan history - which lies somewhere between Marquel and Sekkar's skewed histories."
Greyhawk Gazetteer Addendum: The Nyr Dyv, Part III
CruelSummerLord writes "In the final part of his treatise on the Nyr Dyv, the Brother of the Cruel Summer reveals what he knows and has discovered on the last set of states, from the Shield Lands to the Wild Coast..."
Greyhawk Gazetteer Addendum: The Nyr Dyv, Part II
CruelSummerLord writes "The inner workings of Greyhawk and other states, down to the Orcish Empire of the Pomarj, are all explored in the second part of the Nyr Dyv volume of the Brother of the Cruel Summer's research..."
Greyhawk Gazetteer Addendum: The Nyr Dyv States, Part I
CruelSummerLord writes "From the Sheldomar Valley to the states of the central Flanaess around the Nyr Dyv, we come to explore the culture and knowledge of the central Flanaess. Beginning with the Bandit Kingdoms and continuing to Furyondy, the Brother of the Cruel Summer continues his dispatches upon culture, military power, rulers, and foreign relations..."
Alternate History of the Pomarj and Turrosh Mak
bdpenney writes "As a veteren Greyhawk DM I've very seldom been satisfied with the "Post Sargent" articles and supplements released for the world I cherish most. This lack of satisfaction was at its most pronounced with the release of the Slavers supplement. Now, while I enjoyed the vast majority of the supplement I was left vastly under-whelmed by the detailing of the true nature of Turrosh Mak and the whole "Earth Dragon" thing. Yes, the Earth Dragon is canon, but its true nature was never given real detail. Frankly, I've enough deities to deal with in Greyhawk than to add yet more obscure divine beings to the mix. Hence, I present to you my personal rendition of the history of the Pomarj, which builds up the framework for my eventual history of Turrosh Mak. This work in no way obliterates the finer points of the Slavers supplement, however. Think of it as a boiler plate that can be set over the less inspiring parts of the supplement, allowing you to use the majority of the product while also making the overall story a bit more compelling."
Valkemf, Province & City of
Abysslin writes "For a long time I have wondered what lie upon the Rhizia Peninsula, and for years of my life did I wait for official works to be published concerning it. I had visions of my own as I am sure any that gaze at maps of the flanaess do. I had envisioned a dark and cold place, unforgiving in its nature. One whos inhabitants were cursed to live fruitless and mundane lives. Lives of labor and circumstance. Lives where one must learn sacrifice and perseverance to survive its inhumane environment. You will find in the following, not a place of grand events and twisted plots. Not of politics and prestigious heroes. No, that is not what you?ll find here. No, you will not find that here on the Rhizia Peninsula. What you will find here is the cold and dark truth. You will find the truth of a central province of the Ice Barbarians known as Valkemf. You will find the truth the Cruski live and endure everyday. Your journey to the Lands of Rhizia begins here..."
